Fabulous Trek Vasota-Nageshwar
The year 2008 ended with a very nice memory of the trekking expedition to Forest Fort Vasota and adjoining caves of Nageshwar.
This has been one of the most memorable treks of my life.
We took MSRTC bus to reach Satara and from there again to Bamnoli...This is a small villege by the side of Koyna backwater and is a starting point of Koyna Wild life Sanctuary. The Satara-Bamnoli itself fun in itselt...it is completely different lanfsace first of all and the bus travel on road with deep vally on both the sides.. At Bamnoli you have to take permission from forest department to enter the sanctuary as well as for overnight stay.
Once you get the requisite permission, u are taken to deep in to the forest area through launch to the base camp-Met Indawali, where tents have been erected at the juncture of Koyna river and forest.
We reached met base camp at around 09.30 in the morning, by the the time we got ready for trek, our cook had prepared an excellent breakfast of shira which proved to be quite necessary and energising considering the phyical strenght required for the trek
The rest of the story later....
